Notes:
This book mainly collects the author’s thoughts and analyses on investment from the 200X years. Bei Dao’s The Rose of Time accompanied the author through his hardest times, so he borrowed the same name.
A person’s past experience determines the road they choose in the future. Having been through hardship and thought about death, the author’s thinking is very grand, and the dimensions in which he considers a problem are centuries, even millennia.
Therefore, on the path of value investing, the author can endure short-term ups and downs. He will not sell for a rise, nor buy for a fall; he holds to something in his heart, like a voyage with a lighthouse.
The principle is simple and easy to grasp, but easy to learn yet easy to get wrong in practice. Besides, one need not fear a person who knows ten thousand moves, but rather one who has practiced a single move ten thousand times.
The author both practices what he preaches and has achieved remarkable results, and can also preach the philosophy β worthy of admiration.
The light of wisdom is equal for all; drawing knowledge broadly from every industry and field is most necessary and urgent.
